Mandela Day Celebration 2019
To honour the life of the iconic Nelson Mandela Katale Square donated 67 blankets to the most deserving members of our community.
Shoprite also donated 40 blankets, bread rolls and soup for the elders and Pep stores donated an additional 67 fleece blankets.
Through mall and tenant donations, we were also able to build MaLetta (a 101 year old elder in the community) a bathroom.

BUSADI/UBUFAZI - A Journey Towards the Empowerment of Young Women
In celebration of Women's month, Katale Square hosted 250 girls in and around Marapyane village to empower them with life skills, health and career path advice.
The Department of Education, Department of Social Development and the local SAPS office all attended and provided advice to the young girls.

COVID-19 Hand Washing Basins
To assist the community of Katale Square in the fight against COVID-19, the centre made hand-washing basins that were placed at the entrance to the Mall. Free soap was also provided so that each person that entered the mall was able to sanitise effectively.

2022 Back to School Sanitary Pad Donation
Katale Square donated 200 packs of sanitary pads to two local primary schools at the start of the 2022 academic school year.

2021 Christmas Food Parcel Donation
20 families in need were identified in the Marapyane area. The families were identified by the Department of Social Development and the El Shaddai Worship and Community Centre.
Each family received a grocery hamper in celebration of the 2021 Festive Season.
