Mandela Day 2021
To celebrate Mandela Day 2021, Maake Plaza donated blankets and food to Sedibeng Daycare Centre in Pulaneng village; donated food parcels and blankets to the community of Motsheteng; donated food and blankets to Mmamoshole Creche and donated sanitary towels to Montsheng Primary School, Rasemana Primary School and Kgahara Primary School
Youth Day 2021
Supported by SAPS, the CPF and the Traffic Department, Maake Plaza celebrated Youth Day by supporting young victims of abuse. Victims recieved school uniform donations and were taught about the importance of a good education. No pictures were taken of the recipients in order to protect their identities.
Mandela Day 2020
Maake Plaza donated food parcels and blankets to 92 families who were heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The families were from Maake, Mohlaba and Mokgoboya. The Plaza also donated groceries and blankets to the Holy Family Orphanage.
Women’s Months Celebration
Maake Plaza celebrated Women’s month with learners of Semana Primary School. More than 120 school girls received two packs of sanitary towels each and more extra boxes were saved for learners to use as and when they are needed.
Mandela Day 2020
R2400 worth of groceries were donated to the Lekukela Day Care Centre, Bokgaga and Fola Moya Projects in honour of Mandela Day 2020. We also donated blankets, slippers, socks and fans.
Back to School 2019
In partnership with Roots Maake Plaza, we donated school shoes, bags, stationery and uniforms to three local schools. Learners of Phepene, Maake and Mhangweni Primary School all recieved donations. This was a partnership with the Department of Education, CPF, Parents and SAPS.
Sanitary Pad Donation - August 2018
In August 2018 Maake Plaza celebrated women’s month with Learners of Sekaba Secondary School in Motseteng. The event was honored by BCT, SGB and parents who came to give testimony about the centre. Sanitary pads were donated to the girls and boys received toothbrushes and toothpaste.
Mandela Day 2018
The beneficiary for Mandela Day 2018 was Thushang-Pfunani Disabled Projects. Church leaders, Mr Moagi from the Department of Health and Environment and Constable Monyela of Maake SAPS were all in attendance. A plasma TV, radio, chairs, stationery and food were all donated to the Centre.
Celebrating Children's Day
In partnership with Your Baby My Baby Day Care Centre, we celebrated Children's Day at Maake Plaza on 1 June 2018. The Policing Forum, SAPS, the ward councilor of both Maake and Nkowankowa and parents attended the event.
Each child received a meal, cool drink and ice-cream on the day.
