Y.E.S Hub 2021
The Y.E.S Hub at Alex Mall continues to provide the community of Alexandra and its entrepreneurs with opportunities to upskill themselves.
Alex Mall provides the space to the Hub at a reduced rate.
2021 Mandela Day
In honour of Mandela Day 2021, Alex Mall donated blankets, beanies and scarves to the community of Alexandra to assist them in the winter months.
2021 CPF donation
Alex Mall donated reflector vests to the local community policing forum in order to equip them for the Festive Season.
Alex Mall Mandela Day 2020
Alex Mall partnered with One People Fund and donated winter essentials to 3 local NGOs. Donations included:
- Branded fleece blankets
- Scarves, beanies and gloves
- Masks
- Sanitizers
- Bags of maize
- Sack of oranges
- Non-perishable items
- Vitamin C sachets
Alex Mall Casual Day 2020
Alex Mall supported the annual Casual Day initiative, a national fundraiser for people living with disabilities. Alex Mall donated R5000 by purchasing stickers and branded merchandise and raised a further R840 through sticker sales at the activation stand.
COVID-19 Hand-Sanitising Stands
To assist the community of Alex Mall in the fight against COVID-19, two hand-sanitising stands were made and placed at the entrance of the mall to ensure customers were able to sanitise effectively before entering the centre.
COVID-19 Hand Washing Basins
To assist the community of Alexandra against the fight against COVID-19, the centre made hand washing basins that were placed at the entrance to the Mall. Free soap was also provided so that each person that entered the mall was able to sanitise effectively.
Alex Mall #MasksForGood April 2020
The #MasksForGood project was launched at Alex Mall on Good Friday 10 April.
In the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, masks were one of the preventative methods that were highly recommended by the Department of Health.
In the efforts to flatten the curve, over 20 000 free masks were distributed to shoppers and the rest of the community of Alexandra.
This was a two-fold initiative, local seamstresses were commissioned to manufacture and supply the masks which were then purchaded from them buy the centre and donated to the community.
Casual Day @ Alex Mall
Alex Mall supported the annual National fundraiser for persons living with Disabilities. Alex Mall donated R5000 by purchasing stickers and branded merchandise. We raised a further R1350 through sticker sales at the activation stand
#WarmUpAlex Campaign - Mandela Day 2019
For Mandela Day 2019, Alex Mall partnered with local organisations Alex FM, GALXCOC and Rays of Hope to donate school shoes, blankets, warm clothing and non-perishable food items to 5 local NPO's, reaching over 800 beneficiaries.

The school also runs a community work readiness program where its graduates are thought skills that can get them ready for the workplace.
Through this donation we hope those from the work readiness programme can go into interviews and socialize with the necessary confidence that comes from personal hygiene.
